Who Are We?

The Church of the Nazarene exists to make Christlike disciples in the nations.  We believe that we were created in the image of God, and through Jesus’ redemptive actions and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit we can once again be freed from the sin which ensnares our world.

The Church of the Nazarene is part of the greater Kingdom of God, but we acknowledge that we are by no means its only member.  Instead, we celebrate Kingdom living with our sister denominations who maintain belief in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Church of the Nazarene was birthed in the early 1900s as many, smaller groups desired to unite and be holy as the Lord God is holy.  It has slowly grown in size and scope since then so that we now have congregations in every continent of this world.

Because we believe that God wants us to be a positive change element in his world, we strive to help those who desperately need help.  Through our Nazarene Missions International we are able to run schools, hospitals, and clinics in all parts of the world.  Through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries we are able to rapidly deploy help (in the form of food, water, emergency supplies, and manpower) to all parts of the globe, because we are a truly global church.  Through our Global Educational system we have colleges and universities in six continents.

We want to empower all people to be transformed by the redemptive work of Jesus back into his image.  We believe that through the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to overcome the hold that sin has over our world, allowing us to live in right relationship with our Lord, something we call Entire Sanctification.

The Church of the Nazarene is a collection of individual congregations, united in purpose and vision, to make Christlike disciples in the nations, starting with our own communities.  While each congregation is somewhat self-governing, we still unite in both polity and policy with the global Church of the Nazarene.

Crossroads Church of the Nazarene is part of the Georgia District (which encompasses the entire state).  The Georgia District is part of the USA/Canada Region.  We report to and are governed by the Local Church Board and Pastor, through the District Superintendent and District advisory board, through the Regional Superintendent, and through the Board of General Superintendents and General Advisory.
